Derlot was commissioned to design and launch emerging patissiere Mark Canham’s business.

After supplying desserts to a crowd of Brisbane’s café’s and eateries for the past number of years, Mark Canham has launched Mark Daniel’s Patisserie, his first solo venture, which has been carefully designed and curated by Alexander Lotersztain and his design team.

Under the art direction of Alexander Lotersztain and Head of Interiors, Pamela Georgeson, Derlot undertook all aspects of the design of Mark Daniel’s Patisserie, including interior design and custom furniture of the flagship store, corporate identity and branding, art direction, packaging and website design.

With the client/owner at the ripe age of 24, the design for Mark Daniel’s Patisserie is bold, minimal, and elegant all in one. The flagship eatery in Robina has been designed with elegance and minimalism in mind – the patisserie features a simple materials palette of raw concrete look, crisp white Corian benches, polished stainless steel, and French blue branding. The concept focuses on drawing attention to the vibrant colours of Mark’s signature macarons and petite gateaux – a concept that has been carried through from the interior design all the way to packaging and website design.

The eatery includes custom ‘Picket’ furniture from Derlot’s DE range, with the finishes and colours also made to suit the Mark Daniel’s brand.
